Having always been a photography and film freak, it was quite exciting to learn about the field of 3D. Then I diversified myself to learn and practice all the divisions within 3D such as modeling, rigging, animation, texturing, lighting while also experimenting with other mediums such as stop-motion and filming. Very soon I knew, that 3D was the career path for me.

Along with my arts undergrad, I carried out several personal projects along with ongoing studies, as self-work is essential for any artist. I also undertook several freelance projects and internships, each of which not only helped me towards my 3D skills, but also gave me valuable work experience. Some of the titles I held during such assignments were of a 3D Modeller, 3D Generalist and 3D Character Artist.

 

Eventually, having immersed myself in all the areas, I judiciously chose the role of a lighting artist to be my career of choice.

 

It fascinates me that as a photographer it is my job to capture light while as a lighting artist, it is to create it!
